Supreme Lord: Father kaos
13/03/12 || Smalley
Ok, I’m starting to get burnt out on stubs lately, so I’d better take a break soon for a full review of the new Swallow The Sun, or something… anyway, let’s make due with the usual stub padding courtesy of Metallum; “Father kaos” is Supreme Lord’s 2nd full-length, and Lord is a brutal/tech death band from Poland that has been together since ’91 (only 2 albums in 20 years??). Ok, now to the actual music; it’s pretty standard brutal/technical death, with some song structures that are a bit too chaotic to be satisfying, despite a decently heavy production, a decent energy level, and occasionally catchy riffage.
Their drummer does some standard shit, some blasturbating, and some cool, “In their darkened shrines”-era Tony Laureano-esque fills, but not enough of the latter. The lead vocalist is the typical Cookie Monster, most of the songs just don’t distinguish themselves from the pack, just wonder around a lil’, and are just… there. Just there. This isn’t horrible, or even mediocre, and if I were feeling generous, I’d give it a higher score, but I’m not feeling like that; I’ve just heard too many underground, brutal DM bands by now to care that much for yet another.
6/10: Still better than Reinkaos, at least.
After going thru that crap, you most likely wanna read something way more interesting. You do, admit it.
